As a textile artist and journalist, I believe each of us plays a crucial role in shaping our shared reality, using our distinct and diverse experiences. I specialize in using sheep's wool as my artistic medium, meticulously transforming it by compacting and interlacing fibers to create a handmade felt. This intricate method of consolidating individual fibers reflects the deep connections present in our world, similar to the complex network of neurons that communicate within our brains. My objective through my art is to convey my narrative and touch on the universal human stories that resonate with others. My art represents the profound interdependence between all living things and a heartfelt celebration of the complex and beautiful tapestry of human existence we all collectively share. Through wool's tactile and versatile nature, I aim to provide a sense of refuge from humanity's significant challenges and generate wonder through the thought-provoking themes in my artwork, raising awareness of the inequities and inherent complexity of our shared human experience.
